Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Lead Engineer to join our team at Tata Steel. As a key member of our engineering function, you will be responsible for leading maintenance activities, ensuring process availability, and promoting engineering solutions for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small engineering function to support operations by performing necessary breakdown repairs, leading preventative maintenance activities, and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement.
  • Effectively maintain all process and auxiliary equipment across the facility to improve uptime while reducing costs.
  • Report and record maintenance and repair details for all work activities, using the appropriate maintenance management and IT systems.

Requirements:

  • Qualified at a minimum NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant electrical trade, ideally obtained through a recognized craft or modern apprenticeship scheme.
  • Competent leader/engineer with experience in service center or manufacturing activities, including line management, relevant engineering discipline, continuous improvement processes, preventative maintenance techniques, dealing with contractors and suppliers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales.
  • Sound electrical background and proven track record, with experience of electrical maintenance and fault finding within a heavy engineering/industrial environment.
