About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Isometric, a leading company in the field of carbon credits and climate change mitigation. As a Research Scientist, you will play a critical role in the development of cutting-edge solutions for enhanced weathering, collaborating with world-class scientists to combat climate change head-on.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Scientific Rigor: Develop and maintain the scientific foundation of our enhanced weathering platform, ensuring that our methods and protocols are aligned with the latest research and industry standards.
  • Protocol Development and Review: Design, evaluate, and refine enhanced weathering protocols to quantify net negativity, durability, and uncertainty, and validate measurement and modeling techniques applied to enhanced weathering projects.
  • Research Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Engage with academia, national labs, and industry partners to stay up-to-date on the latest research and technology developments in enhanced weathering, and build internal knowledge of the science underpinning this field.
  • Cultural Development and Team Building: Foster a culture within the early science team that emphasizes scientific rigor, pragmatism, and ecosystem building through mentorship and collaboration.
Requirements
  • A PhD degree or nearing completion in geochemistry, environmental & earth sciences, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong passion for learning and teaching others about the science of carbon removal and storage, with excellent communication skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for innovation, with a commitment to upholding the highest scientific standards in tackling challenges related to carbon removal and storage.
