About the Role:

National Health Service Scotland (NHSScotland) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our Data and Analytics Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the strategic direction for better use of data to drive service delivery and outcomes across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative data, business intelligence, and analytics solutions to drive business value and improve decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and specifications for data analysis and reporting.
  • Design and build complex data processing and data wrangling routines to extract insights from large datasets.
  • Develop enterprise-wide business intelligence front-end solutions to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Engage with users and colleagues across the business intelligence team to ensure seamless delivery of data-driven solutions.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in implementing innovative data, business intelligence, and analytics solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of data products, including ETL/ELT, and ability to write and manage code for data analysis and processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality results and making a positive impact on the organization.
  • Desire to excel within a high-performing team and contribute to the organization's success.
  • Appetite for lifelong learning and growth, with a willingness to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow, and will work a standard 37-hour week with hybrid working options available.
