Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HR Operations team in managing employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR systems, people metrics/reporting, and policy implementation.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior management, influencing practices across various business sectors (e.g., team structuring and role adjustments) and initiatives that align with our people strategy (onboarding, compensation frameworks, performance management, policies, and practices).
  • Ensure a quality-driven and employee-centric approach from the team that reflects the organization's culture and values, grounded in transparency and openness.
  • Oversee personal and team performance, utilizing planning tools to scope, implement, and communicate effectively.
  • Participate in governance meetings as part of the Corporate Executive Leadership Team (CELT), providing insights on HR best practices for company-wide decisions.
  • Represent the HR team with professionalism and credibility, showcasing confidence and expertise to leadership, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Deliver timely company-wide management information that interprets people data, analyzing predictive trends regarding employee turnover, absenteeism, and hiring costs.
  • Provide expert counsel and oversight on complex employee relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with effective people management practices and legal standards across all HR and business-led initiatives, challenging norms where necessary and offering practical solutions.
  • Contribute to establishing Connected Places Catapult as an employer of choice, fostering a positive work environment and an engaged, inclusive culture.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualification with a track record of continuous professional development.
  • Experience in a similar role with team leadership and executive committee involvement.
  • Proven track record in leading change initiatives, coaching managers in their roles (including TUPE).
  • Ability to establish credibility and foster accountability within the department.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational HR capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and experience applying current legislation to various HR scenarios.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and guide through challenging discussions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to accuracy and quality in all outputs.
  • Motivated by continuous change and improvement.
