A Day in the Life of a Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, examining, repairing, and monitoring all electrical and mechanical aspects of the site's logistic and automation systems, warehouse, and offices in a safe and timely manner. This will involve ensuring that the Material Flow Control (MFC) plant and building are maintained efficiently and effectively, giving speedy resolution of downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor all aspects of electrical and mechanical work on site
  • Oversee any contract work and issue work permits to all contractors working on site
  • Ensure all relevant compliances with current legislation
  • Manage routine maintenance schedules where specified are adhered to, covering MFC and services equipment
  • Ensure Safe Working Procedures (SWP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are in place and adhered to
  • To have due regard for HASAWA, PUWER, and Electricity at Work Regulations and to recommend remedial actions as necessary in these areas
  • Adding accurate data into the Hexagon EAM database in a timely fashion
  • Treat all information as confidential to the organisation
  • Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Facilities and Site Services Team Lead/Operational Managers

Essential Requirements:

  • Call out to systems or equipment failure
  • Overtime working when reasonably requested

Requirements:

  • Served a recognised electrical/mechanical apprenticeship
  • Sound knowledge of The Electricity at Work Regulations, HASAWA & PUWER
  • Electrical/Mechanical site-related work within a maintenance-based role
  • Past/current career experience within a PLC environment would be preferred
  • Management experience of external contractors and supervising contractors
  • A full UK driving licence
