Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at a Secondary School in South Gloucestershire, Bristol. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional support due to SEMH, anxiety, and mental health issues.
The school offers a modern and supportive environment with excellent facilities, a large car park, and easy access to public transport links. This is a full-time position, commencing in September, with induction training days prior to the start date.
As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to students, assisting with their learning, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with the school staff and other professionals to ensure the students receive the necessary support.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with mental health and SEMH needs, either in an educational or care setting. You will be a creative problem-solver, able to develop strong relationships with students and staff, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing professional development training, including Team Teach, and will be supported by our dedicated team of experts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH, anxiety, and mental health issues
- Assist students with their learning, social, and emotional development
- Work closely with school staff and other professionals to ensure student support
- Develop strong relationships with students and staff
- Participate in ongoing professional development training
