About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist in Bristol. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering services to young people who have engaged in problematic/harmful sexual behavior and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct brief assessments and interventions with young people and their families, providing assertive outreach within the community.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary risk assessments and develop interventions to support the child/young person and their family.
  • Work collaboratively with young people, families, and other professionals to promote independence and increase self-confidence.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and statistical information, ensuring compliance with local safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and supervision, and access peer support to develop knowledge and practice relevant to the role.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An appropriate NVQ level 3 qualification in mental health, social work, criminal justice, or youth work, or equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have engaged in risky behavior, as well as those who have been challenging to engage with services.
  • Relevant experience of working in health, social care, education, or related voluntary organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and sustain working relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and a positive, non-judgmental approach to working with diverse communities.
