Footprint Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Lead to join a distinguished Main Contractor in the North West. This permanent position focuses on delivering exceptional quality in residential new build projects.

Role Overview:
The Senior Commercial Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commercial Director while overseeing a dynamic team of Quantity Surveyors. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving commercial success and ensuring project delivery aligns with financial and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead and mentor the Quantity Surveying team to achieve optimal performance.
2. Inspire and guide the construction division to deliver high-quality results within budgetary and time constraints.
3. Foster a collaborative environment within the commercial department, encouraging decision-making and providing support to team members.
4. Ensure timely and accurate reporting on all financial matters, including the compilation of forecasts for monthly reports.
5. Identify and leverage commercial opportunities to enhance profitability and mitigate risks.
6. Review and approve subcontractor agreements.
7. Conduct regular management meetings to assess budgets, performance, and project expectations, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
8. Cultivate strong business relationships with clients, promoting a positive image of the organization.
9. Monitor project financials, encouraging proactive communication regarding variations and fostering fair resolutions with clients.
10. Review and authorize subcontractor payments to ensure accuracy.
11. Guarantee that monthly valuations are submitted punctually by the surveying team.
12. Safeguard the company's commercial interests, taking action to resolve disputes and minimize financial exposure.

Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Commercial Lead position, candidates should possess:
  • Relevant qualifications at NVQ Level 5, Post Graduate, or Professional Qualification, along with prior management experience.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Strong understanding of contract law.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations.
