About the Role

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Senior Health Care Support Workers (SHCSWs) to join our dedicated team on Wolf Ward, a 31-bedded unit specializing in Colorectal, HPB, and OG surgery. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the guidance of Registered Practitioners, ensuring adherence to assessed needs and care plans.
  • Perform a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, including blood pressure monitoring, oxygen saturation checks, temperature readings, pulse rate and respiration assessments, glucose monitoring, and sample collection.
  • Participate in patient assessments, providing holistic care and escalating concerns to other clinical staff.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment, adhering to healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in a healthcare or social care setting.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
  • Level 3 (SCQF - 6) qualification, such as City and Guilds 3, NVQ 3, BTEC National Diploma, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Level 2 Functional skills in English and Math's, or equivalent.
