Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our forward-thinking female respiratory ward. The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical support to patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the delivery of care planned and assessed by Registered Nurses.
  2. Carry out care and other duties under indirect supervision.
  3. Supervise junior healthcare assistants, contributing to their training and development.
  4. Undertake specific extended skills.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of providing care in a healthcare or social setting.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Experience of time management and prioritizing work.
  • Understanding and commitment to a caring approach to patients and relatives.

Attitude and Abilities

  • Effective and appropriate communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to complete appropriate documentation accurately.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of healthcare work and policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 (SCQF - 6): City and Guilds 3, NVQ 3, BTEC National Diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Level 2 Functional skills in English and Math's, or equivalent.
  • Completion of Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (that maps to the Apprenticeship Standard for Senior Health Care Support Worker).
