School Caretaker Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled School Caretaker to join our team at Blue Arrow. As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the school grounds and facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unlocking and locking up the school site and individual departments
  • Maintaining the school grounds, including lawn mowing, weeding, and litter picking
  • Performing general maintenance and DIY tasks, such as fixing furniture and painting
  • Assisting with school deliveries and overseeing health and safety
  • Conducting fire drills and testing fire extinguishers
  • Liaising with contractors and escorting them around the site
  • Setting up classrooms and halls for assemblies and parents' evenings
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Availability to work full-time, potentially including early mornings, late evenings, and split shifts
