Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant - SEN

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a good-rated school in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will provide support to students with severe learning difficulties, helping them to succeed in their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with reading, writing, and numeracy skills
  • Provide a positive learning environment and manage challenging behavior
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create and deliver activities
  • Record students' progress and provide feedback to the teacher
  • Tutor students on a 1:1 or small group basis
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop
  • Able to manage challenging behavior and commit to working fixed days
  • Clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Relevant training to support students with learning difficulties
