Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing services to the entire patient population within the practice. Under the guidance of senior nursing staff, the individual will assess patient needs and take appropriate actions based on their evaluations.

Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to ensure that patient needs are met through the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. The role includes supporting the implementation of policies and procedures while providing leadership in nursing practices as necessary. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate sound judgment, resourcefulness, and adaptability in managing work schedules and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, develop, implement, and assess health promotion programs aimed at enhancing well-being and preventing health issues.
  • Design and assess personalized treatment plans for patients with established chronic conditions.
  • Identify and manage treatment strategies for patients at risk of developing chronic health issues.
  • Prioritize health concerns and intervene effectively in complex, urgent, or emergency situations, including initiating emergency care when necessary.
  • Conduct opportunistic health promotion activities.
  • Provide guidance and information regarding prescribed or over-the-counter medications, including potential side effects and interactions.
  • Assist patients in adhering to prescribed treatment regimens.
  • Assess and treat patients with minor injuries.
  • Support and advise women seeking information on family planning options.
  • Manage health needs of women undergoing cytology screenings.
  • Participate in vaccination and immunization initiatives for both adults and children.
  • Offer advice and administer vaccinations for patients traveling internationally.
  • Encourage the use of Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
  • Deliver evidence-based care for patients with ear-related conditions.
  • Perform additional nursing tasks, which may include:
    • Wound care and dressing changes.
    • Venipuncture.
    • Electrocardiograms (ECGs).
    • 24-hour blood pressure and ECG monitoring.
    • Removal of sutures and clips.

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse in Adult, Child, Mental Health, or Learning Disability nursing.

  • Ability to perform spirometry recording.
