About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Merchandising Assistant to join our team at Hackett. As a key member of our Merchandising department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of our stores' stock levels, supporting the planning and distribution of products, and making key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly trade meetings and provide support in making key business decisions.
  • Prepare and present weekly summaries of key performance indicators, including sales, stock, margin, and markdown vs department targets.
  • Analyze past sales figures and trends to anticipate future product needs and define the correct replenishment plan.
  • Report on lessons learned from key seasonal promotions or marketing campaigns.
  • Maximize stock efficiencies and commitment flow to allow for maximum profit.
  • Communicate regularly with store staff to achieve objectives and coordinate operational processes such as returns, pricing changes, promotions, and product launches.
  • Partner with the Allocation team to control inventory levels, allocations, and replenishment.
  • Participate in regular store visits to ensure all department KPIs are met.
  • Manage line card and perform ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Assist in seasonal buys, supporting analysis and key product selection for the retail business.
  • Provide historical analysis for Seasonal Planning Forecasts in support of strategies employed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, especially adeptness in data manipulation using Excel, is essential.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus.
