About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Aspiring Youth Justice Worker. This role will provide you with essential restorative experience within anti-social and challenging settings, perfect for those considering a career in prison, rehabilitation, probation, or youth justice services.

As a Pastoral and Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges and traumas. You will identify their risks and needs, escalating where necessary, and provide consistency and support to equip children and young people with tools to feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistency and support to equip children and young people with tools to feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life
  • Work alongside teachers and specialist staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Build strong, robust relationships with students, teachers, and specialist staff
Person Specification
  • Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to build confidence and motivation
  • Approachable, and able to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
  • High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
What We Offer
  • Excellent on-site training, support, and CPD to ensure safeguarding of all students
  • Competitive daily rate of £80-£90
  • Term-time only, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30
  • Opportunity to work with a small, specialist school near Guildford
