Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Associate to join our client's team in Cambridge. As a Laboratory Support Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory, providing essential support to scientists and researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular laboratory walkthroughs to identify areas for improvement and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage inventory in all on-site storage rooms, including lab equipment, supplies, and office materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory, ensuring it is ready for scientific research and experimentation.
  • Perform general laboratory tasks to support daily operations, including lab porterage, gas cylinder management, and waste disposal.
  • Assist with vendor-managed inventory and laboratory consumables stock control.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, including glass wash, autoclave, and sterilization systems.
  • Coordinate with external laboratory equipment engineers to ensure planned maintenance and repairs.
  • Stock and maintain office supplies, including fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and other essentials.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a laboratory support role, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or research setting.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Understanding of EH&S compliance and crisis management practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
