Job Title: Consultant – Old Age Psychiatrist

Rig Locums Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Preston, Lancashire. As a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) and Memory Assessment Services (MAS) team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to the RITT team, including participating in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and providing regular supervision/consultation slots to the team.
  • Arrange CPA/clinic reviews for service users needing face-to-face assessments/complex case scenarios and diagnostic clarity and formulating management plans.
  • Provide 4 clinical sessions to the RITT team in the job plan, including 2 clinics with 3 new patients in each session or 2 home visits in 1 session.
  • See both new and follow-up patients, with adequate time for admin in the clinics.
  • Provide cross-cover to the RITT Consultant in the Preston locality during periods of leave and vice versa.
  • Work closely with the MTI (Medical Training Initiative) Doctor posted in RITT and MAS teams.
Memory Assessment Services:
  • Provide sessional time to Memory Assessment Service, including consultations to the team and diagnostic clinics.
  • See 3 new patients in the memory clinics per session.
  • Provide diagnosis and assist with post-diagnostic treatment and support along with the team.
Requirements:
  • Full GMC License to practice.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position.
  • Section 12/RC approval is essential.
