We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Mentor to join our team at Wayman Education. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their academic and personal goals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualised support to students, promoting their emotional well-being and aiding their academic growth. This will involve mentoring and guiding students in their behavioural development, assisting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to set and achieve personal and educational targets, and engaging and assisting with various learning activities and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and guide students in their behavioural development
  • Assist students with SEN to set and achieve personal and educational targets
  • Engage and assist with various learning activities and programs
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours
  • Be a positive role model, helping students build confidence and self-esteem
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other learning mentors to create a comprehensive support network for each student
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour or Learning Mentor is preferred
  • Experience in SEN, challenging behaviour, coaching, or youth work is also highly desirable
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient nature
