Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Primary School setting in Newcastle.

About the Role:

The role will involve working with pupils who require additional support to access their learning. You will be responsible for providing individualized support to pupils with varied SEN, including those with challenging behavior. The successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner with excellent relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis
  • Managing challenging behavior in a supportive and non-confrontational manner
  • Communicating effectively with Class Teachers to ensure appropriate strategies are used to support pupils' learning
  • Assisting pupils with their learning and engaging them in activities to promote progress

The School has both full-time and part-time roles available, ranging from 2 to 5 days per week, depending on the availability and preference of the successful candidate.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will need to be a qualified Teaching Assistant with experience of working with pupils with SEN. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with Class Teachers and other staff members to ensure that pupils receive the support they need.
