The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a specialized 17-bed facility that provides critical care for a diverse range of level 3 patients up to the age of 18. As a leading center for metabolic and neurosurgical care, this unit addresses the needs of the most critically ill children across various specialties, including neurology, metabolism, oncology, genetics, and respiratory care. In the role of a Senior Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse, you will gain invaluable experience across these specialties, enhancing your professional development and maintaining high standards of continuing professional education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exemplary nursing care to children, adolescents, and their families consistently.
- Plan, assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care programs for each child, while supervising other nursing staff in these processes.
- Ensure a welcoming, nurturing, and secure environment for patients and their families at all times.
- Act as a champion for the child and family, providing essential information and support, and guiding them to appropriate resources.
