Your Role as Security Officer
As a Security Officer at The Savoy, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, colleagues, and property. You will work closely with managers and leaders across the hotel, maintaining excellent public relations and promoting a culture of safety and security awareness through training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage staff access control, ensuring proper swipe-in/out procedures, appropriate access levels, and correct use of access cards. Prevent unauthorized entry into the hotel and ensure visitors are properly documented and directed.
- Issue and receive keys, create new staff IDs, and accurately record names and times.
- Conduct patrols of both back-of-house and front-of-house areas to verify doors are locked or open as required and fire exits remain clear.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report any unusual activity to the in-house security team for further investigation. Perform bag searches of staff and contractors leaving the building, recording all searches in a logbook.
- Liaise with supervisors regarding the temporary disabling of fire alarms during steam cleaning operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to security activities.
Your Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a highly motivated and reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a security role is preferred, but not essential. A strong commitment to safety and security protocols is crucial.
