About the Role
We're seeking a seasoned risk management professional to lead our Control Management Risk Pillar. As a key member of our Global Merchant & Network Services team, you'll be responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and reporting on operational risk within our business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust risk management strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Amex policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess operational risks, and develop mitigation plans to address them
- Lead control monitoring and testing programs to ensure the effectiveness of our risk management controls
- Provide risk assessments and recommendations to senior management to inform business decisions
- Develop and maintain risk dashboards and key risk indicators to monitor and report on operational risk trends
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of critical risk management lifecycle activities
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior business and technical stakeholders
- Expertise in process governance, with a track record of establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes
- Experience in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous
- Experience in risk assessment, risk management, or control monitoring, with a strong understanding of risk management methodologies and frameworks
