About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils, working closely with the classroom teacher to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to pupils, promoting their emotional and academic growth
  • Assist the classroom teacher in lesson planning and delivery, ensuring a high-quality learning experience
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extra-curricular events and school trips
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and respectful classroom culture
Requirements
  • Strong educational background, ideally with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a teaching or support role, preferably in a similar setting
  • Ability to work effectively with pupils with SEMH needs
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviors and developing strategies to promote positive outcomes
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn
