About the Role

**Sales Manager**

SF Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead a Sales and Customer Service team for a growing manufacturing business in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, communicate, implement, and monitor the Sales and Customer Service strategy to achieve sales, profit, and cash flow targets.
  • Ensure the departmental resource, skills, and experience to enable all aims to be met.
  • Understand the markets, competitors, and products as well as customer needs and buying process to define the sales process for winning and retaining target customers.
  • Lead all sales and customer service activity to attract and win new business, grow sales and profitability, and promote the brand.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and implement lead generation campaigns, agree customer marketing actions, and develop marketing collateral to win new business.
  • Closely manage the leads generation and opportunity management process, continuously growing the pipeline, assuring the robustness of the qualification stage, and increasing conversion rates on target products and customers.
  • Ensure an effective onboarding process for new customers that achieves customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Regularly visit key customers to ensure that the business remains clear on their requirements.
  • Ensure that all customer service processes are followed, keeping up to date with the customer service levels required of target customers and working with the rest of the management team to deliver them.
  • Regularly review customer terms and conditions ensuring they meet the requirements of the business and that customers adhere to them.
  • Regularly review pricing and costs taking appropriate actions to improve profitability and ensure consistency across markets, including taking responsibility for implementing companywide price increases.
  • Ensure that the sales forecast is regularly reviewed, that assumptions are documented, and that this is reflected in the sales and operational planning processes, and that customer expectations are managed and met.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in managing a successful Sales team ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve sales, profit, and cash flow targets.
  • Strong understanding of the markets, competitors, and products as well as customer needs and buying process.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with the Marketing team to develop and implement lead generation campaigns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
