KS1 Teaching Assistant (ASC) Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a Year 1 class. The successful candidate will work closely with the child, providing individualized support and creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to the child with ASC, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, ensuring that the child's needs are met.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of the child's progress and any concerns.
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school community, supporting pupils and staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • 2:1 or higher degree grade and excellent A-Level and GCSE grades.
  • Strong understanding of ASC and previous experience working in this field.
  • Dedicated and resilient, with a positive outlook and ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Calm, patient, and understanding, with a passion for inclusive education.
  • Ability to make learning fun and engaging for pupils.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
