Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Womenswear Design Assistant to join our dynamic Product & Design Team at Sisters & Seekers. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Lead Designers and Buying Team in creating innovative and stylish designs for our global customer base.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with prior experience in a similar role to join our fast-paced and creative environment. You will have the chance to work with a talented team of designers, suppliers, and manufacturers to bring our brand's vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of new design concepts and present them to the Lead Designers and Buying Team for review and feedback.
  • Develop and maintain detailed CADs and tech-packs for team and supplier use.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create and update linesheets per collection.
  • Participate in fit sessions and provide feedback on new developments.
  • Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to track developments and implement design adjustments and sizing amendments.
  • Assist in curating linesheets for B2B presentation and offering new product lines to retail partners.
  • Develop ideas for new product lines and product expansion.
  • Research and suggest new fabrics and manufacturing techniques.
  • Create trend boards and provide trend forecasts highlighting key styles, vintage references, and design details.
  • Develop relevant inspiration boards as needed.
  • Assist in repeat pattern and print developments.
  • Organize and maintain samples, swatches, and fabrics in a logical and efficient manner.
  • Work under time constraints and meet deadlines while maintaining a passion for delivering high-quality work.
  • Collaborate with the wider creative team to ensure designs align with campaign concepts and overall brand ideas.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a completed Fashion Design Degree at 2:1 or above.
  • Experience in a womenswear or menswear design role is desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work on-site at our office headquarters.
  • Evidence of a strong design portfolio.
  • A creative flair with a unique vision and original ideas.
  • Excellent knowledge of the brand, customer, and signature aesthetic.
  • A keen eye for fashion and style in day-to-day life.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Good knowledge of fabrics and trims.
  • A can-do attitude and ability to take initiative independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality work.
  • Confidence to develop, present, and defend ideas to a group or team.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
