Job Summary

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust offers a comprehensive range of experiences in OMFS, including Dentoalveolar Surgery, Oral Medicine, Orthognathic Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Head and Neck Oncology.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as part of the OMFS Team and be responsible for:

  • Outpatient clinics, including the management of patients in general outpatient clinics
  • A&E, including the general management of pre-operative and post-operative patients for all Maxillofacial emergencies and planned operations
  • Inpatient admissions, including the arrangement of essential pre-operative investigations and treatment
  • Operating Theatre, including the preparation for theatre sessions and communication with general practitioners on patient progress
About the Team

The Maxillofacial Department of St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust consists of seven consultant Maxillofacial Surgeons. The team provides a comprehensive range of services, including outpatient clinics, inpatient admissions, and operating theatre sessions.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full Registration with GMC or GDC
  • At least 6 months experience in OMFS surgery, ENT, or plastics at ST1/2 or SHO equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing medical education
