Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Operations Coordinator to join our team in the Africa region. As a key member of our Global Security Operations Centre, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality operational security services.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of political and security issues in the Africa region, as well as experience in security operations, crisis management, and logistics planning. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, think critically, and make sound decisions under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the security desk, handling security advice and providing assistance to travellers, expatriates, and corporate security/risk managers.
  • Work alongside the security operations team during escalations across all regions.
  • Provide 'Active Monitoring' services to subscribed clients affected by major security incidents.
  • Assist with coordinating operations as part of an Incident Management Team during escalated situations, evacuations, and security operations.
  • Collaborate with our team of Global Intelligence Analysts to contribute to Africa-related operational advice and risk intelligence output.
  • Cover the Global Intelligence Analysts where additional resource is required to cover Global Incident Monitoring and intelligence support.
  • Assist in the development of security operational capability across Africa. Take responsibility for asset due diligence across all regions.
  • Work with the medical team on emergency medical response plans.
Requirements
  • A degree or masters (or equivalent) in a related field, such as International Relations, Politics, or Security.
  • Expertise and knowledge of political and security issues in the Africa region.
  • Experience of operating in an international context (postings, exchanges, or employment within a foreign multinational company) is an advantage.
  • An insight into intelligence analysis techniques, such as OSINT, is helpful but not necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of working in small, close teams.
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure, whilst following protocol with high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. A second foreign language is an advantage.
