About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children and Family Worker to join our team at Coventry City Council. As a key member of our Children's Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding service to children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with children, young people, and their families, as well as colleagues and professionals from other agencies.
  • Provide high-quality support and guidance to families, focusing on their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting children and families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective interventions and strategies to promote the wellbeing and safety of children and families.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as child development, safeguarding, and family support.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of children and young people's development and the impact of adversity on their lives.
  • Experience of working with children and families in a social care or related setting.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with families from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, professionals, and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and guidance in relation to children's safeguarding and welfare.
