Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated nurse to become a vital member of our Emergency Nursing team at band 6. You will collaborate with a supportive and dynamic team to deliver exceptional care to our patients. Emergency Nursing presents unique challenges, but our multidisciplinary approach ensures you will receive the guidance needed to enhance your Emergency Nursing expertise. There are ample opportunities for both personal and professional growth within the Emergency Department (ED). Comprehensive training will be provided in the ED, alongside opportunities to complete intermediate and advanced life support courses. Senior ED nurses will assist you in achieving the required band 6 competencies.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Ward Sister to establish and uphold care standards within your designated area.

- Ensure a high standard of care is consistently delivered to patients under your supervision.

- Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans for your patients.

- In the absence of the Ward Sister, manage, allocate, and oversee the nursing staff in your area, ensuring all team members understand their roles in care planning, prescribing, and evaluation.

- When assigning nursing staff and organizing clinical teams for specific patients, ensure that the team's competencies align with the care needs of the patients.

- Strive to deliver care in the most effective and efficient manner while being sensitive to patient needs.

- Work with the Ward Sister/Lead Nurse/Assistant Lead Nurse to identify when care standards cannot be met due to a lack of expertise, manpower, or resources, and discuss the implications with the appropriate personnel.

- Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; applications from both English and Welsh speakers are encouraged.
