Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire, United Kingdom Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Full time

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated nurse to become a vital member of our Emergency Nursing team at band 6. As part of a supportive and dynamic team, you will provide exceptional care to our patients. Emergency Nursing is a demanding field, but our multidisciplinary team is here to help you enhance and broaden your Emergency Nursing expertise. There are excellent opportunities for both personal and professional growth within the Emergency Department (ED). You will receive guidance from senior ED nurses to fulfill band 6 ED competencies.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Ward Sister, establish the standards of care to be met within your area of responsibility.

Ensure that a high standard of care is consistently provided for patients under your supervision.

Manage and engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans for your patients.

In the absence of the Ward Sister, oversee, allocate, and mentor staff assigned to your area, ensuring that all nursing personnel understand their roles in planning, prescribing, and evaluating nursing care.

When assigning nursing staff and designating clinical teams to specific patients or groups, ensure that the competencies of the team align with the care needs of the patients.

Strive to deliver care in the most effective and efficient manner while being sensitive to patient needs.

In consultation with the Ward Sister/Lead Nurse/Assistant Lead Nurse, identify situations where acceptable care standards cannot be met due to a lack of expertise, manpower, or resources, and discuss the implications with the appropriate leadership.
