Job Description

Millbank Holdings is seeking an experienced Proposals Engineer to join our team. As a Proposals Engineer, you will be responsible for performing estimating and proposal functions for our MCCs/Switchboards/Control Panel (LV) offering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform estimating and proposal functions for MCCs/Switchboards/Control Panel (LV) offering
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and deliver high-quality accurate competitive proposals
  • Liaise closely with clients and engineering teams
  • Responsible for reporting to the Proposals Manager and liaising with the proposals team, Operations Manager, Key Account Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and clients as necessary
  • Review tender/enquiry documentation to facilitate effective 'bid/no-bid' decision making
  • Liaise with all relevant parties to receive timely and accurate information/quotations for the delivery of high-quality competitive proposals
  • Prepare accurate and competitive proposal documents utilizing the Technology SBU standard templates
  • Ensure proposals are presented in sufficient time for review/sign off in accordance with the current authorisation levels procedures
  • Ensure proposals are clear, unambiguous, and protect the client's commercial and contractual position
  • Attend project kick-off meetings to hand-over successful proposals to the assigned project execution team
  • Coordinate and attend site meetings to survey/review the client's requirements
  • Notify Technology senior management team of any significant commercial, technical, or contractual risks associated with projects arising from specific proposals
  • Actively carry out continual improvements to affect quality and efficiency within the proposals team
Requirements:
  • Good technical understanding of MCCs/Switchboards/Control Panels
  • Ability to assess the quality of user requirements, scope of work, specification, and design to qualify the basis of proposals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to offer client demanding timescales
  • Good up-to-date working knowledge of all aspects of contractual arrangements and best practice
  • Willingness to undertake an annual performance 1 to 1 review and attend internal and external training courses as necessary
Desirable:
  • Technical knowledge of control systems, electrical/control panels, and MCCs
  • Ability to relate to clients and understand their needs
  • Ability to effectively meet client timescales
  • Ability to estimate project costs
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with clients
