Job Summary:
AA Euro Group is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Regular Site Audits: Conduct regular, formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in the Safety Management System to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Statutory Inspections and Notifications: Ensure that a record of statutory inspections is kept for all activities and plant equipment, and deliver and complete statutory notifications to the Health and Safety Authority as required.
- Health and Safety Inductions: Deliver and complete health and safety induction programmes for new on-site employees and contractors to ensure they understand our health and safety policies and procedures.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Manage and recommend PPE for on-site employees to ensure they have the necessary equipment to perform their duties safely.
- Cost Records and Forecasts: Assist Site Management in compiling cost records and forecasts for all issues associated with health and safety, including contra charges, training, purchases, etc.
- Safety Meetings: Organize and chair site safety meetings to ensure that all employees and contractors are aware of health and safety risks and procedures.
- Sub-Contractor Safety Statements: Review sub-contractors' safety statements and safety compliance to ensure they meet our health and safety standards.
- Method Statements: Assist Site Management in drafting and communicating method statements to ensure that all employees and contractors understand the procedures for carrying out tasks safely.
- Emergency Plans: Maintain and communicate site emergency plans to ensure that all employees and contractors know what to do in the event of an emergency.
- Accident Investigations: Conduct preliminary accident investigations and statutory notifications, and keep the Group Safety Manager updated on any incidents.
- First Aiders: Ensure that first aiders are available and that all necessary supplies and certificates are maintained.
- Safety File: Collate relevant information for inclusion in the safety file in preparation for handover to the client.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Health and Safety Certificate, Diploma, or Degree is essential.
- Experience: 2 years on-site safety officer experience, ideally in construction.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the construction industry.
