Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an alternative provision in Saltash. The successful candidate will work closely with a student with an Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP), supporting them to access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with an EHCP, adapting learning materials to their needs.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to deliver tailored interventions.
  • Collaborate with specialists and on-site experts to implement strategies that support the student's development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor the student's progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist with managing challenging behavior, using a patient and empathetic approach.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children and young people with additional needs in an educational, care, or similarly transferable setting.
  • Patient, caring, and empathetic, with a strong commitment to supporting students with SEN.
  • Creative and adaptable in your approach to meeting individual needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with other professionals.
