Under the guidance of our esteemed Executive Head Chef, you will lead our kitchen brigade, ensuring efficient daily operations in our bustling hotel kitchen. We are committed to your professional growth and offer a variety of training and development opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in a high-pressure kitchen environment and demonstrate the ability to inspire and support team members towards achieving excellence. The role requires a commitment of 45 hours per week, spread over five shifts out of seven, including weekends. Typical shifts may vary between morning and evening hours.
The compensation for this full-time position is competitive, starting at £45,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the efficient operation of the kitchen to uphold the hotel's reputation for culinary excellence.
- Ensure that all food preparation, cooking, and presentation meet the high standards expected by our guests.
- Contribute to the hotel's strategic business initiatives and projects to enhance market position.
- Manage the culinary budget and monitor kitchen expenditures effectively.
- Implement and oversee stock management policies, addressing any issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations and environmental health standards.
- Maintain security protocols for kitchen and storage areas at all times.
- Provide training and development opportunities for kitchen staff to meet Hastings standards.
- Regularly review and communicate Hastings quality standards and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
- Motivate and manage kitchen personnel through effective communication and adherence to HR policies.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss standards, targets, and company updates.
- Assist in the recruitment and optimal utilization of kitchen staff in alignment with business needs.
- Ensure all kitchen facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to foster a respectful and harmonious work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications
- Level 3 in Food Preparation and Cooking.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient command of the English language.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- Experience managing HACCP.
- Previous experience as a senior chef in a hotel or catering environment, with strong skills in stock management, budgeting, and team leadership.
