MLK Education Search is pleased to assist a vibrant two-form entry primary academy in their search for a dedicated and proactive SENCO to join their team.
This institution is devoted to maintaining high educational standards and providing exceptional support for its students. They collaborate closely with families to ensure comprehensive assistance for children both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the strategic advancement of the SEN policy and its implementation within the school
- Manage daily operations and tailored provisions for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Deliver professional development opportunities for staff, parents, and relevant stakeholders
- Act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people, adhering to school policies and the staff code of conduct
- Serve as the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children
Candidate Profile
- Possess a relevant degree along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Hold the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) qualification or be prepared to pursue it
- Demonstrate successful teaching and leadership experience within a primary educational setting
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice, safeguarding, and child protection policies
- Provide evidence of leading training sessions for staff related to teaching and SEN
