MLK Education Search is excited to be supporting a wonderful two-form entry Primary academy in the heart of Ealing in recruiting a strong, dynamic, and confident SENCO to join the senior leadership team.

The school is committed to achieving high standards and exceptional pastoral care for its pupils. Serving the communities of Northolt and Greenford, they work closely with families to ensure the support is there for children both in and out of the classroom.

As a newly formed Primary setting, they are on a journey of exciting growth with a brand new building due to be completed in 2024 and a growing roll that will bring new progression opportunities for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the strategic development of SEN policy and provision in the school
  • Be responsible for the daily operations and specific provision to support pupils with SEND
  • Provide professional development to colleagues, parents, and other relevant agencies
  • Be the Deputy DSL to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct
  • Be the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children

Requirements:

  • Have a relevant degree, with QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Hold the NASENCO qualification or be willing to undertake the new NVQ within the first year
  • Have successful teaching and management/leadership experience within a Primary setting
  • Present a solid understanding of the SEN COP, safeguarding, and child protection
  • Have evidence of leading staff training related to teaching and SEN
