PMLD Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary special school in Tower Hamlets. The school specializes in providing high-quality education to students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Job Summary
  • Gain valuable experience working with students who have PMLD, developing your skills and knowledge in supporting their academic, emotional, and social growth.
  • Play a key role in planning, producing, and delivering teaching materials tailored to the needs of students with PMLD.
  • Work closely with qualified SEN professionals and specialist therapists to ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Engage in 1:1 and group sessions, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs of students in Key Stage 4 and 5.
  • Full-Time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30, with a competitive salary of £470 per week paid on a PAYE basis.
About You
  • A resilient, patient, and nurturing personality, with a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives.
  • A minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology from a top 20 University, demonstrating your academic excellence and understanding of SEND principles.
  • Previous experience working with students who have PMLD or SLD, showcasing your ability to adapt and provide effective support.
  • A keen desire to make a difference in the lives of students with PMLD, driven by a commitment to their education and well-being.
