Medicines Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medicines Safety Practitioner to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT. As a key member of our Medicines Safety Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe use of medication across our services.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing support and guidance on medication-related incidents, ensuring learning from such is embedded into practice and shared across our footprint.
- Supporting the Medication Safety Officer in investigating medicines incidents, reviewing investigations, disseminating alerts, preparing reports, and sharing lessons learned.
- Disseminating lessons learned from incident investigations, identifying medicines safety issues from national guidance, and embedding them into clinical practice.
- Leading the preparation for the Medicines Safety Committee, including analysis of data from our incident management system, providing interpretation and reports as appropriate to a wide variety of staff groups.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Professional clinical registration.
- Postgraduate clinical qualification or specialist training.
- Significant hospital experience.
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
- Delivery of training.
- Medicines management.
Desirable qualifications include experience in electronic risk management systems and experience of medication safety.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to interpret and communicate complex data, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of disciplines.
