Position: Head Chef

Overview:
As a Head Chef, you will leverage your culinary skills and leadership capabilities to oversee comprehensive food and beverage services. Your role is crucial in enhancing the daily experiences of our armed forces personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the culinary operations and provide guidance to the production team.
  • Delegate tasks to sous chefs, commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen personnel.
  • Manage staff schedules to promote a healthy work/life balance.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health Officer (EHO) regulations and maintain high sanitation standards.
  • Engage in menu planning, adhering to a structured military dining menu while implementing weekly rotations.
  • Optimize the use of existing inventory and manage stock effectively.
  • Oversee meal presentation and communicate with clients regarding their requests.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house management to uphold service excellence.
  • Ensure your team receives thorough training and regular refreshers to meet client expectations.

Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in a high-paced kitchen environment.
  • Proficient in IT and experienced with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of food production techniques.
  • Strong understanding of allergens and necessary precautions.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Capability to assess personal and team performance.
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and perform well under pressure.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
