Position Overview

Waters Corporation is in search of a Software Support Engineer.

This role involves becoming a vital part of a committed software development team focused on delivering adaptable, reliable, and innovative solutions tailored to meet distinct business needs. Engaging with a comprehensive range of software, from operating systems and interfaces to databases and user interfaces, necessitates a comfort level with diverse skill sets. Integrated Software Solutions specializes in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS, LIMS) designed for diagnostic and newborn screening laboratories.

This position is ideal for individuals with internship experience or those who have recently entered the programming field.

Comprehensive training specific to the products will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborating closely with development and support management, the team will guide all facets of their technological development practices. Support tasks include contributing to the design and maintenance of solutions that enable the company to deliver timely and effective customization and training to end users, consistently exceeding expectations.

This role demands strong analytical capabilities to troubleshoot support issues and devise resolutions through appropriate code modifications, as well as an understanding of requirements for new functionalities.

Additional support responsibilities include:

- **Software Development**: The individual will document and adhere to established standards and methodologies to ensure consistency across the team and products. You will ensure the utilization of core components and features to fulfill requirements while identifying deficiencies and proposing potential solutions for development.

- **Implementations**: Provide technical assistance to product specialists during new installations and upgrades for existing clients.

Qualifications

**Education**:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
  • Degree in a science-related field.
**Experience**:

Demonstrates robust programming skills, capable of executing a broad spectrum of programming tasks with minimal supervision.

Ability to assess and recommend enhancements for software efficiency, adhering to agreed quality standards.

Proactive, highly organized, with strong time management and planning abilities.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with personnel across the Business, Support, and Development teams.

Understanding the significance of confidentiality when handling client and patient personal data is essential.
