Our service caters to two ladies with learning disabilities in a supported living environment, where each has their own residence. Additionally, we offer enabling support (25 hours per week) for another lady residing in a different location.

We aim to expand our team of enthusiastic, caring, and friendly support workers to assist all three ladies.

Being a support worker transcends routine assistance; it involves creating enjoyable experiences. Each lady has unique interests: one enjoys collecting items and has a passion for annual vacations, another loves daily outings for shopping and dining, while the third enjoys visiting charity shops and socializing.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to forge meaningful connections.

· A positive and understanding demeanor towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Employment Options:

· Part-time: adaptable hours based on your availability.

Shift Details:

Some services require 24-hour care with sleep-in shifts.

Rotas are prepared at least four weeks in advance, allowing you to manage your personal and social commitments.

Shift patterns vary as staff work across three locations.

Service 1 shifts include:

8am – 10:30pm with a sleep-in, followed by 7:30am-8:30am the next morning.

Saturday to Tuesday also includes an 8am - 8pm shift.

Wednesday to Friday shifts are from 3pm - 8pm.

Service 2 shifts are:

7:30am – 3:30pm and 12:30pm – 10pm.

Service 3 shifts are:

9:30am – 2:30pm three days a week.

A sleep-in shift is also available, offering an enhanced flat rate payment.

*All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

* Due to the nature of this service, we are seeking female applicants only. This position is exempt under the Equality Act, Schedule 9, Part 1.

Benefits of Working with Mencap:

· 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) along with various benefits, including pension and holiday purchasing options.
