Job Description

Denholm Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Relations Manager to join our team in Scotland. As a key member of our PR team, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, developing and implementing communication strategies, and representing the company at events and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and direct public consultation events across Scotland, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement programmes and public affairs documents, including scoping reports, to support client objectives.
  • Host and organize stakeholder roundtables and events, fostering meaningful relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships, providing structured and strategic communications advice and support to ensure client success.
  • Coordinate web design and brand development initiatives, ensuring a strong online presence for our clients.
  • Plan and execute community engagement strategies, attending events and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist clients in developing positive relationships with target stakeholders and influencing decision-making and political processes.
  • Lead and manage multi-client portfolios, spanning different policy sectors, on budget and on time.
  • Write compelling copy for opinion pieces, draft media and policy copy, public affairs strategies, and policy briefings to support client objectives.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in Public Relations, with a proven track record of managing client relationships and developing effective communication strategies.
  • Experience working in close consultation with clients to plan and implement communication strategies on their behalf.
  • Knowledge of overseeing and implementing press and media engagement KPIs, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Able to manage relationships with journalists and the media on behalf of clients, ensuring positive coverage and reputation management.
  • Experience drafting social media calendars and recommending sponsorship opportunities to support client objectives.
  • Genuine interest in daily media and political monitoring and background research, staying up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Confident in actively participating in new client pitches to secure new business and representing the company at events and conferences.
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
