Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your marketing, communications, and fundraising skills to develop the profile of the Wales Medicines Strategy Group across the organization and in the community, grow our supporter base, help develop a positive supporter journey, and increase funds, as we support the organization to be the best it can be for patients, families, and staff.

Main Duties of the Job

Working closely with the organization's Director, the post holder will build the charity's profile across traditional and digital communications, targeting our stakeholders with compelling stories and consistent messages. He/ she will increase engagement with hospital staff, patients, supporters, and the wider community, building greater awareness of our fundraising and the impact charitable support is having on patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote the organization's work and raise awareness of its charitable activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including hospital staff, patients, supporters, and the wider community.
  • Produce high-quality marketing materials, including reports, newsletters, and social media content, to engage and inform stakeholders.
  • Manage and monitor budgets to ensure effective use of resources and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the organization's Director to develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the charity's goals and objectives.
Person Specification
  • Degree or equivalent level of experience in a relevant subject, such as marketing, communications, or charity management.
  • Masters degree or equivalent level of experience in a relevant subject, such as marketing, communications, or charity management.
Experience
  • Proven track record in marketing and communications across multiple channels, including digital and traditional media.
  • Experience of producing impactful communications and campaigns that engage and inform stakeholders.
  • Experience of monitoring and managing budgets to ensure effective use of resources and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Previous experience within the charity sector, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing charities.
Skills
  • Ability to write compelling communications in a variety of formats, including reports, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including hospital staff, patients, supporters, and the wider community.
  • Strong organizational and IT skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality marketing materials and reports.
