Job Summary

Watsham Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Purchase and Subcontractor ledgers, ensuring timely invoice processing and payments to suppliers and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter supplier and subcontractor invoices onto the COINS ERP system
  • Perform three-way matching of invoices (to Purchase Orders and Goods Received Notes) and resolve any discrepancies
  • Manage multicurrency invoices and payments
  • Apply Corrected Industrial Scheme (CIS) to subcontractor invoices
  • Process and approve invoices due for payment on the system
  • Respond to supplier and subcontractor queries
  • Prepare payment runs for approval by the Finance Director
  • Verify subcontractors with HMRC and obtain insurance documents
  • Set up new suppliers and subcontractors on the COINS system
  • Complete monthly CIS returns
  • Complete monthly Value Added Tax (VAT) returns
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts

Requirements

  • Essential: COINS experience, construction industry experience, and at least 2 years of Purchase Ledger experience
  • Desirable: three-way matching and Goods Received Note (GRN) experience
  • Able to work 5 days a week in the office (local)
