Acies, part of RSK Group, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Lead to join their Civils team in Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled professional.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the in-house management of the Civil Engineering elements of structural projects, including the preparation of technical design from concept stages through to construction. This will involve working with the Directors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering, with experience in design consultancy for commercial/industrial projects. They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience of team leading and/or client-facing roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drainage design in accordance with the most up-to-date standards, including Design and Construction Guidance DCG, BS EN 753, Building Regulations – Part H, and Ciria Guidance for SuDS and Modular Geocellular Tanks.
  • Preparation of Section 104, Section 106, and Section 185 agreements in accordance with the Water Industries Act.
  • Preparation of design deliverables, including drawings in AutoCAD, hand-drawn sketches, 3D surfaces, cut and fill in PDS, and specification documents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering.
  • CEng in ICE or IStructE.
  • Proven post-graduate experience in design consultancy for commercial/industrial projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of team leading and/or client-facing roles.
