Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Logistics Manager to join our team at the Ministry of Defence. As a key member of our Security Services Group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to drive operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of logistics strategies to meet stakeholder demands.
  • Manage the logistics functions, including the movement of materials, goods, and products, to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Plan and oversee the warehouse process, including inventory management and stock control.
  • Manage budgets and cost profiles to support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs regulations, and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in a 1* environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and empower colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes and procedures, with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
