Job Description

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our client's manufacturing site in Bury St Edmunds. Due to the ongoing growth and expansion of the company, we are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Multi-Skilled Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of equipment through proactive maintenance and quick, effective responses to breakdowns.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Shift Engineer to tackle any issues head-on and ensure the plant is safely isolated for colleagues and contractors.
  • Record Keeping: Record all worked carried out on the plant in the daily maintenance log and on the Assets Master system on DSL.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain good housekeeping throughout the plant and site by repairing leaks and ensuring work areas are left clean and tidy.
  • Health and Safety: Observe the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other current legislation, including the site safety policy.
  • Environmental Impact: Actively involved in reducing environmental impact of any spillage using spill kits and drain bunds, to prevent polluted spillages entering the surface water system.

This is a full-time 42 hours per week, permanent position with Panama rotation am and pm shifts with no nights. The successful candidate will possess engineering experience such as mechanical /electrical within manufacturing environments and demonstrate the ability to work independently to achieve objectives and take responsibility for their work and actions. Recognised engineering qualifications are required.
