CLINICAL WARD LEADER

ADULT MENTAL HEALTH INPATIENT SERVICES

BAND 7

HOURS PER WEEK

PERMANENT

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Adult Mental Health division, specifically for a Clinical Ward Leader role. This position is situated within a 21-bed inpatient facility dedicated to male patients, supported by a committed multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing and managing the clinical and operational standards of the ward.

In collaboration with the operational manager and Matron, you will guide a team striving to uphold high standards in both clinical practice and management.

Your role will involve adherence to national and local policies and standards, while working closely with various teams, including but not limited to:

  • Mental Health Act team
  • Bed management
  • Safeguarding
  • Finance
  • Recruitment
  • Human Resources

About the Organization

Job Duties

The individual in this role will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the effective delivery of care and treatment. You will be expected to operate autonomously to address challenges affecting clinical care, quality, and service delivery, while receiving overall support and strategic guidance from the Service Manager. This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience at Band 6/7 level, along with a Professional Mental Health qualification
  • Leadership capabilities and management qualifications
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills

  • Strong working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Background in a mental health environment
