We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Logistics Operations Supervisor to become part of our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to our commitment to exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of delivery personnel at a high-volume distribution hub, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
- Optimize delivery routes to enhance vehicle efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
- Adapt to fluctuating resource needs and manage team assignments accordingly.
- Provide coaching and constructive feedback to drivers, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and addressing any issues promptly.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on vehicles to comply with operational standards.
- Demonstrate quick decision-making abilities in response to unexpected challenges such as vehicle malfunctions or delivery delays.
- Possess a solid understanding of the financial implications of managing a fleet of commercial vehicles, with strong analytical skills.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a supervisory role within the logistics sector, emphasizing health and safety. Strong leadership qualities, effective communication skills, and a track record of enhancing operational standards are essential. While familiarity with transport legislation is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Proficiency in computer applications, excellent organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail are required.
